General Service Information

All service requests require a letter of instruction, signed and dated by the attorney of record, or the plaintiff, when there is no attorney (CCP 262).Instructions must include the name, and address of the individual being served.

For service our office requires:

  • Letter of Instruction
  • 3 copies of the document being served (front and back)
  • Levies and evictions require the original Writ of Execution plus 3 copies. The original Writ must be valid on its face in order for our office to enforce it.
  • All documents must include the service fee or a copy of the court ordered waiver.

The above requirements must be submitted in order to provide proper service. Our office will return any and all documents if the above requirements are not met. This will delay your service and may require you to obtain a new court date.

Our office accepts cash, check, and money orders. All checks and money orders must be made payable to Sheriff’s Department-Civil Division.

Our office does not provide legal advice or assist in completion of the forms or letter of instructions. You must contact an attorney or a legal agency for assistance, or may obtain information at the following websites.
